We bill a professional retainer for our services. Based on the complexity and nature of the services provided, retainer fees range in the low six figures.
How does BoardSelect differ from a traditional board search?
Active CEOs and top executives are prized as directors for the real-world experience they bring to the
boardroom. However, odds are poor that they will be called upon to join an external board perfectly suited to their interests and their company’s unique requirements.
Two decades ago, we introduced BoardSelect®, an innovative advisory service designed to connect America’s most accomplished and valued executives with well-matched, mutually beneficial board service opportunities. Throughout this process, we advise the executive in creating an “ideal board specification,” identifying the boards that will best fit their selection criteria, and those that will most benefit from their business expertise.
How long does the process take?
The initial research and assessment phase is reasonably time-intensive, but in most cases can be completed in 6 to 8 weeks. We then engage target boards to present our client over the following 6 to 12 weeks. While the bulk of our active outreach can be completed within 12 weeks, factors such as governance protocols, reference availability, and interview timing can, in some cases, add a few months to the process.
What if a board placement doesn’t occur?
On the off chance that a match cannot be made with one of the client’s preferred organizations, we continue to research additional opportunities. Our strategy is fine-tuned, and the intelligence gathered proves useful for the executive’s ultimate board selection.
