Compared to past years, the makeup of board appointments in 2026 is changing as a result. More white men are being elected to corporate boards, due in part to the fact that they continue to dominate the CEO space at major companies. Meanwhile, the number of appointments going to non-white directors increased modestly, while election of new female directors declined slightly year over year.
